Photo Oxford Festival works closely with communities across Oxford and Oxfordshire, using photography as a creative way for people to express themselves, build confidence, and learn new skills.

We collaborate with local partners such as Yellow Submarine, Aspire Oxford, Crisis, Mind Oxforshire and My Vision Oxfordshire to run welcoming workshops and projects that support people with a wide range of experiences and abilities. Together, we explore photography as a tool for storytelling, connection, and creativity — while also helping participants develop practical skills they can use in everyday life, from communication to teamwork and employability.

At the heart of our work is long-term, meaningful engagement. We aim to create supportive spaces where individuals feel valued, can share their unique perspectives, and become part of a wider cultural conversation — celebrating the richness and diversity of our communities.

LOCAL WEEK

The final week of our festival (10–16 November) was dedicated to our local communities with free guided tours of the exhibitions, alongside the opening of a new exhibition at the Window Galleries in central Oxford, in partnership with Fusion Arts, showcasing the outcomes of some of our workshops with Crisis, Yellow Submarine, Camera Club and Oxfordshire Mind.
